Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry Numbers from the United States

NEW YORK – Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire• In July and August of 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of visitors from America. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents a 13% improvement from the year before. Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. “It is exciting to witness a second growth in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number of 2019,” he stated. “The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic there was a record-breaking number of tourism numbers each month. We are delighted to see this shift and are expecting an upward trend that will continue for months or even years.

Canada is poised to beat Israel’s tourism arrivals 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 tourists in August.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see the Canadian tourism industry to Israel growing. “We are not far off our record-setting numbers in 2019 and we anticipate that this growth in the number of travelers to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians continue to feel more confident about traveling abroad.”

Israel welcomed more that 4.6 million international tourists in 2019 including 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless if they are vaccination-free. Israel already has hosted more than 600,000 visitors.
