After his primary and secondary education, he attend Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria where he obtained an BSc in Architecture.
AAU also awarded him an honourary Doctor of Science. He also holds an honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University in divinity. The Reverend Chris was once married to Anita Obhodaghe, and they have two children.

While still enrolled at AAU Pastor Chris Oyakhilome became involved in the ministry. The Believers’ LoveWorld fellowship, now Believers LoveWorld Incorporated, was at that time known as Youths For Christ.
YFC grew and became the largest fellowship on campus. In 1989, Pastor Chris established Believers LoveWorld Incorporated (BLW), alongside Christ Embassy. Lagos is the home of the church’s headquarters. Believer’s LoveWorld is today a global church with thousands of members and associates all around the world.

The TraumaCare International Foundation was founded in order to enhance health and longevity for communities in the area. They also promote improved emergency response services when there are accidents or emergencies. The foundation plans to accomplish this feat by educating the public about health advocacy, community-based and other programs while positioning to provide the necessary support to national policies in trauma care.
The foundation has provided more than 1000 first-aid, safety, emergency response training. Record has it that, they were able to train thousands of schoolchildren, law enforcement officers as well as teachers, caregivers and road transporters.
Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC)
