Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was a child of faith who was raised by a loving family and was supported by his parents. He is the oldest child of elder T.E Oyakhilome and Angelina Oyakhilome. She was a pioneer of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City and a matriarch of Oyakhilome families. She handed down her divine grace on her son at an early stage.

His brother, Reverend Ken is the renowned pastor of Christ Embassy’s Houston, Texas Church and an active member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which is home to several world-class gospel artists.

Pastor Chris is blessed with two daughters, Charlene and Carissa Sharon. Carissa Sharon follows in her father’s footsteps of sharing God’s Word to the world. Also known by CSO her name, she is a talented, award winning gospel artist and is a part of LoveWorld Music and Arts. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome started his studies in Edo College. After a scholarship was awarded to pursue a degree in the field of architecture at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University), he was awarded an BSc degree in Architecture and an honorary Doctor of Science. He also holds an honorary doctorate of divinity from the Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was where he found his calling to serve the Lord and to be a minister.

While in the university While still in university, the Man of God began what would turn out to be the biggest church in the world. It started with the formation of a small prayer group called ‘Youth For Christ’. The group would eventually become the foundation of LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy as well as eventually millions of followers around the world.

Under the direction of Pastor Chris, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. LOVEWORLDSAT was first Christian television station broadcasting out of Africa throughout the day on free-to air channels. There are LoveWorld television stations on cable and satellite networks around the world.

Christ Embassy is present in Pastor Chris’s homeland of Nigeria as well as South Africa. It also has strong representation across the United Kingdom, Canada, United States, and South Africa. The church has two Healing Schools that are located in South Africa and Canada, where Pastor Chris organizes seasonal sessions during which miraculous events are witnessed.

Chris Oyakhilome Music and Gospel Music form an integral part in worship. Pastor Chris invites Christ Embassy Churches have a choir trained and supervised by the Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry. A lot of the singers have successful solo careers.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is an ardent social entrepreneur and founder of the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation international (COFI), which is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that has the mission of helping the most vulnerable individuals as well as communities within the poorest countries and regions around the world.

Alongside preaching the Gospel, the Man of God has established NGOs with a mission of delivering vital assistance and hope to vulnerable, needy, and forgotten souls. COFI is a partnership of five that are committed to improving living standards in some the most neglected areas.

Under the auspices COFI are the InnerCity Mission (ICM) for children, the Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC), Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF), Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF), and the Bible For All Mission.
