Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7, 1963, in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a faith-filled family with loving, committed parents. He is the child of Elder T.E Oyakhilome who was one of the founders of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City. Angelina and the matriarch Oyakhilome were also his parents. God’s grace was passed down to her son at an early age.

His brother Reverend Ken, is the esteemed Pastor of Christ Embassy’s Houston, Texas Church and an active member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council, and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which is home to several world-class gospel artists.
Pastor Chris has two daughters: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon is following in her father’s footsteps of sharing God’s Word with the world. Also known by CSO as a singer, she is a talented, award winning gospel singer and is part of LoveWorld Music and Arts.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome attended Edo College before winning a scholarship to study architecture at Bendel State University, known today as Ambrose Ali University, where the student earned an BSc in Architecture. He also received an honorary Doctor of Science award. He has also been awarded an honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University in divinity. Ambrose Ali University was where he discovered his calling to serve the Lord and go into ministry.
Pastor Chris: The Mentor
While in the university The Man of God began what would become the largest congregation in the world. It began as an uninvolved group of believers called ‘Youth for Christ’. The group would later grow to be the foundation for LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy, and eventually millions of followers around the world.
Under the direction of Pastor Chris, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. LoveWorldSAT became the first Christian television channel to be broadcast 24/7 from Africa through free-to-air channels. There are currently LoveWorld television stations that are available on cable and satellite networks around the globe.
Christ Embassy is present in Pastor Chris’s homeland of Nigeria as well as South Africa. It also has strong representations in the United Kingdom, Canada, United States, and South Africa. Two Healing Schools are situated in South Africa and Canada. In Canada, Pastor Chris hosts special sessions throughout the year that allow the manifestation of miracles.
Music and Gospel Music play an integral element of worship. Pastor Chris is a strong advocate for Christ Embassy Churches and Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry to train choirs. Many of these musicians can become accomplished solo artists thanks to the guidance of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s guidance and spirit.

In addition to preaching the Gospel message the Man Of God has also set up a variety of non-profit organizations that provide essential services and hope to the most vulnerable and neglected. COFI has five partners who have a common goal of raising living standards in some of the most underdeveloped areas.
Under the auspices of COFI are the InnerCity Mission (ICM) for Children The Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC), Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF), Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) and the Bible For All Mission.
